Comments

This "best of" effectively ended the Celtic Circle series. The name is a bit of a misnomer, since many of the tracks on the three disks comprising this collection didn't appear on the other releases in the Celtic Circle series. The packaging could have done with another round of proofreading too - several artists names are mispelt prominently on the front cover ("Márie Brennan" for instance) and there are more mistakes in the track listing on the back.

As usual for the series, this release is packed with great music. The only really duff track is The Spirit of Eden's cover of Enya's "Orinoco Flow", which sounds like two or three unrelated tunes overlayed on top of each other. Lose about 50% of the instrumentation and there might be a half-decent cover version in there... Still, there are some really good tracks. One of my favourites is Cantara's "Waiting for the Wind", and I may have to see if I can track down any of their albums.

The aforementioned new tracks make this worth getting even if you have the rest of the Celtic Circle releases, especially if you can pick it up for $NZ13 as I did.
