Comments
This is, possibly, the mellowest album ever. It has a quiet, introspective sound - in fact pretty much all of the clichés of relaxation music while still being extremely good. Gerrard's softly-spoken vocals, often only just shy of a whisper.
That's not to say the whole album is a lullaby. "Space Weaver", for instance, has a similar downbeat feel to Craig Armstrong's "This Love", and "Towards the Tower" is a more gothic mostly-instrumental piece. "Devotion" is not unlike some of the quieter Dead Can Dance pieces.
A well-deserved 10.
