And Winter Came...
The only problem with releasing seasonally-themed albums is that the other hemisphere is inevitably experiencing the opposite season to the hemisphere where the album was released. Thus we down south got Enya's Christmas album in mid-summer (frankly the weather's not really been summery this year...) though at least in time for Christmas.
Barring a couple of surprises, And Winter Came the in classic Enya sound — the majority of the tracks would be at home on Watermark, or Shepherd Moons. The exception is "My! My Time Flies" which I think is also my favourite track of the album, in which she lets loose and even has some guitar. The album's rounded out by a new version of "Silent Night" in Gaelic (she previously released a version as a single) which is dreamily beautiful. I'd recommend the album for the last two tracks alone.
Now my only problem is that it'll seem out of season to play it in June.
