Comments

Kiwi band Tadpole bring the rock with their debut album. I was hooked by "Alright", especially by Renee Brennan's wry vocals and the dense metal guitar tracks, and was gratified that the rest of the album was just as good. Hey, it makes a nice change from my usual diet of New Age and 80s hits (not that there's anything wrong with those, but a change of pace occasionally is always good).

My favourite tracks tend to be the ones early in the album: "Alright", "Better Days", "For Me", etc are all great tunes. My least favourite would be "Music Box" - for reasons I can't quite put my finger on it doesn't quite work for me. Maybe it's too mellow in comparison with the rest of the album.

The 30 second Intro track makes a pretty good Windows startup sound.
