Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!
Following up his first two albums must have been difficult, but Enigma's third album is as finely crafted and mellow as MCMXC and Cross of Changes. The music has a fuller sound, slow beats and deeply ambient, tending often towards powerful laments. I regard this as the best of the first four Enigma albums.
The CD sleeve from the original release is made from a sort of translucent plastic and looks almost holographic.
