Comments

Loreena's second studio album introduces a running theme in her music - that of the tragically doomed romance. Specifically in "Annachie Gordon", we have a young woman forced to marry someone she doesn't love, subsequently dying of heartache, her lover soon following. This is also represented in a more abstract manner in "Standing Stones".

Her albums are almost consistantly of a high quality and this one is no exception. I'm quite fond of Dicken's Dublin, though what the young boy's description of the birth of Christ has to do with Loreena's lyrics, I'm not sure!
