Comments

Massive Attack's second album, overall, continues the promise of Blue Lines - more trippy downbeat music with a dark undertone. Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl guests, providing the vocals for "Protection" and "Better Things", and the rest of the album employs a mix of different vocalists, giving each song a unique feel. There are also two superb instrumental tracks, "Weather Storm" and "Heat Miser", the former of which also appears on Pure Moods II.

The album ends with an oddly stop-start live cover of "Light My Fire", which seems wildly out of place with everything else. I suspect it was added as an afterthought.
